Helen Worley

Helen H. Worley, 94, died Thursday, September 13, 2007 at her home in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was born to Mary and Eugene Shurance, on December 12, 1912. Helen married Russell Hawk in 1931 and they had two children, Howard Franklin Hawk and Enid Mary Hawk. Russell passed away on September 13, 1960, exactly 47 years before Helen. In 1963, she married Charles Raymond McClelland whom preceded her in death in 1991. She then married Leroy Everett 'Roy' Worley on October 20, 1994. Helen was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church sang in the choir and was a substitute Sunday school teacher. She also was a member of the Daughters of the Nile, Al Aamin Shrine, as Chaplain for three years, and in their Sewing Unit, which made and provided needed clothing and other needed supplies for the Shriner's Burn Hospital in Galveston, and needed help for supplies for the Crippled Children's Hospital in Houston, TX. She volunteered at Corpus Christi Hospital for several years well into her 90s. Helen spent most of her working years as a legal Secretary, in Ohio and Florida, finally retiring at the age of 72.

She is survived by her husband, Leroy Everett 'Roy' Worley of Corpus Christi, TX; daughter, Enid Mary William Reis of Mansfield; son, Howard Betty Jane Hawk of Mansfield; grandson, Bradley Hawk, of Mansfield; granddaughter, Debra Michael Hart of Evans, GA and their two daughters, Addaly Jane, age 6 and Morgan Alise, age 4. She is also survived by her stepchildren, Mary Thomas Hanna of Corpus Christi, TX, John McClelland of Broken Arrow, OK, James McClelland of Wauwatosa, WI and Charles McClelland of Zephyrhills, FL, their wives, children and grandchildren. The family will miss her dearly as she had a wonderful sense of humor and was so giving of herself to everyone she met.

Funeral services will be held today, September 15, 2007 in Corpus Christi, TX. A graveside service will be held Monday, September 17 at 3:00 p.m. in Mansfield Memorial Park at the Garden of Gethsemane by the duck pond. Friends may call from 1:45-2:45 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors.
