Hilda Davis, 60, of Mansfield, died at December 21, 2006 at her home. She died surrounded by her loving family after a five month battle with pancreatic cancer. Born November 10, 1946 in Brettheim, Germany, she was the daughter of Joseph and Maria Brauchler, who came to the United Sates in 1950. Hilda became a U.S. Citizen in 1955. She loved the outdoors, especially in the warm months, loved long walks with her dogs, and was an exercise enthusiast. Always a loving person, full of life, she enjoyed making people laugh, even to the point of being 'very silly'. Her most recent job was at the Mansfield Public Library, Ontario Branch, which she loved and made many kind and wonderful friends. Hilda absolutely loved animals of any kind and was active with the Humane Society with regular monetary donations.
She will be sadly missed by her mother, Maria Brauchler; the 'light of her life' daughter, Britta Davis; former husband and best friend, Bernie Davis; brother and sister-in-law, Erwin Lucy Brauchler; sisters and brothers-in-law, Brigitte George Diez, and Maria Thomas Remllong; stepson, Ben Kelly Davis; many wonderful nieces and nephews, Steve and Diana Brauchler, Tammy Brauchler, Briant Brant, Chuck and Evonne Brant, Eric Schmidt, Frank Rienzi, Steve and Chris Rienzi, Mark and Tammy Rienzi, and Jeff and Eileen Remllong; and many great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Brauchler; and brothers-in-law, Charles Brant, and Michael Davis.
She will go to Heaven along with the urns of her beloved, Slivo, Rose, Katze, and Orphie, where she will once again be healthy, vivacious, young, and beautiful, as she was in life.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, December 22, 2006 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Doyle Peyton. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to North Central Ohio Hospice or the Humane Society.
