
Homer Lee Wilson, 75, of Mansfield, died Friday, January 25, 2008 at home after a short illness. Born November 19, 1932 in Louisa, Kentucky, he was the son of Bun and Bessie Wilson. He lived in Mansfield since 1955 and started Wilson's Garage. Wilson's Garage later became known as Homer Wilson and Son Towing and was in business for 50 years. Homer also retired as a special deputy for the Richland County Sheriff's Office and from Mansfield Plating. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, racing, and working on automobiles. Homer also enjoyed gardening, snow plowing, and spending time with his dog, Cricket.
He is survived by his children, Mike Mickie Curtis of Mansfield, Carol Tom Clement of Jacksonville, Florida, JoAnn Alan Eckstein of Mansfield, and Clifford Wilson and special friend, Lisa J. Knipp and her son, Kaleb Wingler; grandchildren, Ryan Millisa Patterson of Mansfield, Justin Sarha Curtis, Lindsay Curtis, all of North Richland Hills, Texas, Denise Eckstein, and James Eckstein; and great-grandchildren, Hayley Patterson and Kira Curtis. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lula "Tootsie" Mullins Wilson; parents; dog, Cricket; and special friend Rosemary Webb.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Michael Rogers and Minister James Davis. Burial will follow in Imhoff Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
