
Howard Eugene Beck, 79, of Port Clinton, passed away Saturday morning, October 27, 2018 at Heritage Village Nursing Home in Clyde, Ohio. He was born June 7, 1939, in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late Howard Adam and Lillian Mae (Stoner) Beck.
Howard was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He had several occupations over the years including: the Crestline Railroad, a police officer in Crestline, Mansfield Asphalt, and the Richland County Landfill. Howard was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed hunting.
He is survived by two daughters, Barbara Ellen Beck of Trenton, TX, and Beverly Elaine White of Mansfield; six grandchildren, Tara Marie (Scott) Carruth, Kayla Renae Hangartner, Kaulen Stephen (Kelly) Korody, Haley May White, Lacey Alexandra White and Zachery Scott White; four great-grandchildren, Ashlynn Marie Carruth, Brinley Rose Carruth, Scottie Clayborn Carruth and Madison Grace Korody; one soon to be great-grandson, baby boy Korody; and a brother, Wesley Beck of Mansfield. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Mae Kleinsorgen Beck.
A graveside service conducted by Pastor Rick McCartney will be held Friday, November 2, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at Mansfield Memorial Park. Military honors will be presented by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home. The Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family.
