
Ima Ruth Mahan, 82, of Mansfield, Ohio died Monday, February 5, 2001 at MedCentral Mansfield following a brief illness. She was born May 19, 1918 in Crawford County to Grover & Gladys Ness. Mrs. Mahan retired from JC Penny after twenty-five years of service. She had been a member of the First United Methodist Church for over fifty-years and had also been a choir member. Mrs. Mahan will be remembered as a woman who was strong willed, loving and a very caring person. While she enjoyed cleaning and gardening, she most enjoyed getting to spend time with her grandchildren, as well as going out of her way to help others.
She is survived by her very special friend, Floyd Dailey of Mansfield; two sons, William Edward Mahan and Robert D. Mahan both of Mansfield; a sister, Aurelia Busler of Galion; twelve grandchildren, Kim & Cheryle Meister, Bertley & Cathy Mahan, Jim Mahan, Carri & Aaron Stephens, Andy Mahan, Kay Marie, Heather & Scott Seibel, Summer Mahan, Carol Haring, Donald Dailey, Ronald Dailey and Lori Peirson; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bertley Melvin Mahan in 1979; three brothers, Fritz, Elmer and John Ness.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors on Wednesday, February 7, 2001 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, February 8, 2001 at 10:30 a.m., conducted by Dr. Roger E.
