

She retired from Geauga Plastics and attended Crossroads Community Church. She loved her flower gardens and working in her yard, working crafts and catering weddings.
She is survived by two daughters, Paulagene (Larry) Ward and Sherry (Gary) McKenzie all of Mansfield; four grandchildren, Melanie (John) Benepe, Gary (Heather) McKenzie, Amy (Steve) Ackerman and Holly Barler; nine great grandchildren, Ashley, Courtney, Gary Shane, Devin, Dylan, Kennedy, Haley, Emily and Logan; one great great grandson, Mason; one brother, James L. (Barb) James; and numerous nieces and nephews including special nieces, Margaret and Elizabeth. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband in 1994, Paul Sammons, whom she married in 1949; three brothers, Burford, Charles and Elmer James; a sister, Naomi Bond; and a granddaughter, Melissa Jean Ward.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 2013 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 26, 2013 at the funeral home conducted by Rev. Paul Allen and Pastor Steve Ackerman. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m., Friday at the funeral home.
