Ingeborg Schnieders, 91, of Mansfield passed away June 29, 2024 at her residence. She was born in Kadenbach, Germany on December 8, 1932 to Hermann and Amalia (Küehchen) Knopp. She married Werner Schnieders on February 12, 1955. They met here, in America and were married for fifty-six years. In 1959 Ingeborg became a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She has also lived in the same home since 1959. Ingeborg was an incredibly strong woman with a soft heart. Her family was everything to her. She made many trips back to Germany to see extended family over the years. Ingeborg enjoyed camping, cooking, and traveling. She loved family gatherings, especially big Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings.
Ingeborg is survived by her children, Rosemarie (Charlie) Elrod, Ursula (Jeff) Hunter, Rudi (Angela) Schnieders, Karen (Bill) Dailey, and Christa (David) Puterbaugh; stepson, Johannes Peuler; grandchildren, Andrew (Rebecca) Elrod, Audrey (Ryan) Sevenbergen, Lynn Milligan Leist, Lori (Jeremy) Hysell, Justin (Shannon) Hunter, Anthony (Emily) Hunter, Natasha Lowther, CJ Yockey, Anna Yockey, Nicholas Putterbaugh, Aaron Puterbaugh, Karin (Andreas) Peuler, and Frank Peuler; twelve great-grandchildren; and lifelong best friend, Clothilde Best. She was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother, Anna Knopp; husband; two brothers; and one sister.
There will be a Prayer Vigil Sunday, July 7, 2024 at 4:45 PM at Wappner Funeral Directors-Mansfield 98 Diamond Street. Visitation will follow from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be held Monday, July 8, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St Mary of the Snows Catholic Church, 1630 Ashland Rd Mansfield, OH 44905. Ingeborg will be laid to rest at Mansfield Cemetery.
