

Irene E. "Rene" Traicoff, 93, of Ashland, passed away Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Kingston of Ashland. Born May 28, 1924 in Hemlock, Ohio, she was the youngest of 12 children of Alexander and Elizabeth (Beres) Wojtko.
Rene grew up in Lorain, Ohio and was a 1942 graduate of Lorain High School. A homemaker, she loved to cook, bake and was a wonderful seamstress. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, singing and listening to Big Band music. Rene was a loving, nurturing, compassionate and classy lady who loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. In her earlier years, she was a member of Kingwood Garden Club and was a Brownie leader for her daughter. She was also a former member of Central United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir.
She is survived by two sons, Dennis (Drema) Traicoff of Ashland and Allan (Diana) Traicoff of Arlington, Texas; a daughter, Alexis (Rick Campbell) Traicoff of Loveland, Ohio; grandchildren, Chad (Heather) Lynn of Butler, Danielle Lynn of Lexington, Allan (Patricia) Traicoff, Jr. of Bangkok, Thailand, Jennifer Traicoff of Garland, Texas, J.R. (Crystal) Traicoff of Mansfield and Ryan (Candice) Traicoff of New London, Ohio; 14 great grandchildren; and a special niece, Arline Walters of Lorain, Ohio along with numerous other nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband in 1989, Robert Traicoff; 11 brothers and sisters; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Norman and Mary Traicoff.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield conducted by Rev. Christopher R. Thomas. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Friends may call one hour prior to the service, from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m., at the funeral home on Wednesday.
