
Irwyn E. Ohl, 94, of Mansfield, died Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at Brethren Care Nursing Home. Born May 18, 1914, in Richland County, he was the son of Elmer E. and Lillian Harlan Ohl. Mr. Ohl retired in 1975 from Westinghouse and was also engaged in farming. He formerly attended Vermillion Baptist Church and was a member of the VFW, Moose Lodge, Eagles Club and Modern Woodmen of America. Mr. Ohl enjoyed activities at the Friendship Center, dining out, camping, playing cards, watching sports on TV, parties and celebrations with his family.
Surviving are three daughters, Shirley Ronald Barry of Mansfield, Doris J. Robert Mutchler of Findlay and Marilyn M. Gilbert Boals of Mansfield; one son, Edward E. Janet Ohl of Mansfield; 19 grandchildren and many great and great great grandchildren; two sisters, Mildred Stults of Moore, OK and Marilyn Gene Borgeson of Park Ridge, IL; and several nieces and nephews including twins, Donna Phillips and Donald Atwell, who resided with Mr. Ohl. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 50 years, Anna E. Whitmore Ohl; one son, Robert Ohl; a brother, George Ohl; and a sister, Marjorie Hollar.
Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, June 1, 2008, at the Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 2, 2008, at the funeral home conducted by Pastors Barry Whitt and Ramona Gilbert. Burial will follow in Vermillion Cemetery, Hayesville. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio or MedCentral, Mansfield.
