
Iva Faye Smith, 97, of Mansfield, died Wednesday, July 01, 2009, at her residence. Born May 19, 1912, in Jackson, Ohio, she was the daughter of Virgil and Mary Booth. A 1930 graduate of Marion Harding High School, she moved to the Mansfield area in 1951. She worked for Kobachers Department Store and retired from Montgomery Ward's. She was a member of the Marion, OH Order of Eastern Star and had been a member of Central United Methodist Church for many years, but most of all, enjoyed spending time with her family.
Surviving are three sons, Raymond V. Helen Smith, Don Cathy Smith and Darrell Lynda Smith all of Mansfield; grandchildren, Sue Bishop, Tom Bishop, Greg Bishop, Geoff Bishop, Joe Bishop, Rick Bishop, Randy Sears, Scott Sears, Beth Smith, Laura Steve Scodova, Rick Faulk and Andy Janie Smith; 37 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Omar H.V. Smith in 1995; a granddaughter, Shellette Smith; and a grandson, Timothy Bishop.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 3, 2009, at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield, OH 44902, conducted by Pastor Joe Esarey. Burial will follow in Chapel Heights Memory Garden, Marion. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mansfield Symphony.
