J. Michael 'Mike' Higgins, 47, of Mansfield died Saturday morning, January 18, 2003 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital as a result of injuries he received in an auto accident. Mr. Higgins was born June 18, 1955 in Mansfield to James D. and Lela Marlene Rowley Higgins and was a lifelong area resident. Mike was employed with Newman Technologies and also worked many years at Springfield Mold and Die. He was a member of Amvets Post # 26. Mike was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by a daughter, Lori Higgins of Pulaski, Tennessee; father, James D. Higgins of Mansfield; mother, Lela Marlene Higgins of Mansfield; two brothers, Chris Higgins and Larry Higgins, both of Mansfield; a sister, Mary Jo Stewart of Mansfield; eight nieces and nephews; and many cousins and uncles.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors one hour prior to funeral services that will be held Tuesday, January 21 at 10:30 a.m., conducted by Rev. Clifford E. Tackett.
