
Jack E. Ewers, 75, of Mansfield, died Tuesday morning, August 28, 2007 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Born April 11, 1932 in Mansfield, he was the son of Glendon and Laurabelle Davis Ewers. Jack was a bus driver for 28 years and the owner and operator of Jack's Coney Island for 46 years. He was a Ham radio operator with the call letters, KB8TLN. A special friend to the F.O.P. and Mansfield Fire Department, he was the first citizen to receive an Honorary Fireman award and was a lifetime member of the Fireman's Association.
He is survived by his wife, Linda C. Holbrook Ewers; two daughters, Michelle Rocky Kauffman of Lady Lake, FL and Brenda Dilley Ed Keen of Lexington; two sons, Michael Ewers of Mansfield and Timothy Barb Ewers of Shiloh; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Phillys Anderson of Mansfield; brother, Bob Ewers of Colorado Springs, CO; and best friend, Jim Gragg. Preceding him in death was his son, Paul Matthew Ewers, granddaughter, Angelinque T. Ewers and his parents.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, August 30 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services conducted by Pastor Les Vnasdale will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. A luncheon will follow the service at Cornerstone Grace Brethren Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in care of the family.
