
James Frederick Keller is now residing with his Heavenly Father whom he went to meet March 31, 2009, whom he loved, worshiped and served since committing his life to Him in his youth. Born February 29, 1924, in Crawford County, he was the son of John and Mary Heitzman Keller. James served in the U.S. Army Air Force in WWII. During this time, he trained pilots to fly P-38s. He was a partner with Brown and Keller Contractors, having constructed residential and commercial buildings. He was a past member of the Board of Realtors. James was an active member of First Church of God. He served as a Trustee, Board Member, Sunday school Teacher and assisted in other church activities. James liked everyone he met and enjoyed the outdoors, traveling and camping. His two great-grandchildren, Kirsten and James Jr. Dome brought him much happiness and joy.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Roma Daiber Keller; daughter, Kay Bob Dome of Ontario; grandchildren, James R. Carrie Dome, Sr. of Happy Valley, Oregon and Dr. Jodi Nicholas Dome-Linger of Detroit, Michigan; sisters, Gladys Warren Starlin of Mansfield, Constance Luidhardt of Chatfield, and Madesta Bill Leonard of Newark; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, April 2, 2009 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd., Mansfield. Friends may also call one-half hour prior to the funeral services Friday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home, with Pastor Jeff Gray officiating. Military graveside services conducted by the Richland County Joint Burial Detail will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
