

James R. Osborne, 72, of Mansfield, died December 24, 2004 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. He went to be with his Lord and Savior early Christmas Eve morning. Born August 1, 1932 in Kentucky, he was the son of Ora and Ida Opal Logan Osborne. Jim was formerly employed as a millwright with Southwest Forest Industries, Snowflake, Arizona, where he retired after 30+ years. After he retired, he enjoyed living in both Mansfield and Snowflake. He attended Word of Faith Church and loved serving the Lord with his sister, Helen Carpenter. He frequently shared fond memories of the time spent with his sister, Etta Myrl and brother, Gib. His favorite expression, 'Praise the Lord', described the way Jim lived his life. He and good friend, Russ Totman, enjoyed reading the Word together, attending gospel sings, revivals and church covered dish dinners. An avid fisherman, he looked forward to the annual fishing trips with his sons at many different locations. Jim was a loving, devoted, hardworking father, who loved his children and grandchildren dearly and providing for his family was his number one priority.
He is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Allen Terri Osborne of Mansfield, Madison Janice of Morrow, Oh., Bryant Diane Osborne of Atoka, Tenn., and Brent Linda Osborne of Berda, Tex.; seven grandchildren, Aaron Sonja Osborne, Jason Reed, all of Mansfield, Amber Osborne of Bucyrus, Oh., Brenda Osborne and Brendon Osborne, both of Grand Junction, Col., Ryan Osborne and Cory Osborne, both of Morrow; two great-grandchildren, Torianna and Alexis Osborne; a brother, Gilbert Osborne of Mansfield; a sister, Etta Myrl Lewis of Wheelersburg, Oh.; special friend, Donna Osborne of Taylor, Ariz.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Helen Carpenter.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Monday, December 27 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Buddy Barrows. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Buddy Outreach at Word of Faith Church.
