James found joy in the simple but meaningful things in life. He had a deep love for firearms and spent countless cherished hours sharing that passion with his grandson “Matt”, also named James. Their bond was one of shared hobbies, laughter, and lessons passed from one generation to the next.
For James, work at the steel mill was more than just a job—it was a form of therapy and a place of peace. He poured himself into every task with quiet dedication and took pride in his ability to provide and stay busy.
A loving great-grandfather, James treasured the time he spent with Elena and Ella. Whether he was sharing stories, giving advice, or just sitting together in quiet company, those moments were some of his most precious.
He also had a love for the open road. Traveling and riding his motorcycle gave him a deep sense of freedom and adventure—experiences he embraced wholeheartedly throughout his life.
James is survived by his brothers, Gary (Electa) Foster, Chuck (Dianne) Barber, and Lance (Melissa) Foster; son, Jay (Wendy) Wilson; daughter, Michelle Wilson; grandsons, James “Matt” (Kelly) Wilson, Dakota “Cody” Wilson, Dalton Wilson, Brandon Wilson, J. J. Wilson, and Nicholas Wilson; granddaughters Ashley Wilson and Amber Wilson. He was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, who raised him with love, strength, and the values that guided him through life, Matt and Ruby Wilson; his mother, Ruth “Micky” Wilson; sisters Kelly Foster and Brenda Mapes; and son, James Wilson.
In accordance with James’ wishes, no services will be held. Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services by Wappner is honored to serve the Wilson family.
