Janet Hanna, 66, died Saturday, January 12, 2008. She was born January 1, 1942. Janet married Vassilis Kanellakis in 1974 in Kansas City and moved to Greece with him in 1976. She has a bachelor's degree and master's degree in English from Ohio University, a Master's in Philosophy from the University of Kansas, and a Doctorate from the University of Athens, Greece. Janet was an award winning poet and playwright. She married David Eckstein in 2005.
She is survived by two sons, Alexandros Kanellakis and Pavlos Abbey Kanellakis; and sister, Sally Randy Knapp. She was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret Shoup and Norman Hanna; and sister, Marilyn Eckstein.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 18, 2008 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. A celebration of the life of Janet Hanna will be held on Sunday, January 20th from 3 to 6 p.m. at Camden Falls, 2460 S. SR 231, Tiffin, Ohio. There will be a private burial in Hanna Cemetery.
