Jason Vanwormer, born in Flint, Michigan, lived a life defined by hard work, a love for the outdoors, and a personality impossible to forget. After more than 30 years as a construction laborer, he leaves behind a legacy of craftsmanship, dedication, laughter, and love.
Jason was known for his sarcastic wit, carefree attitude, and ability to find humor in nearly any situation. He never needed to be the center of attention—his straightforward nature and quick remarks left people laughing, shaking their heads, or both. Those who knew him will always remember how he made life a little more entertaining.
He took pride in the work he did with his hands and understood the value of building something lasting. Beyond the structures he helped create, Jason built memories, relationships, and a family that will carry his spirit forward.
When he wasn’t working, Jason was happiest outdoors. Fishing, hunting, and time in nature brought him peace. He also had a special place in his heart for animals—especially dogs—and it was often said he loved them more than people. Those who knew him well would smile and agree.
Jason is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Beverly; his children, Justin and Jami; and his cherished grandchildren, Wren, Sophia, Ariah, and Amelia. His humor, hard work, love of the outdoors, and unmistakable personality will live on in the quiet moments, family gatherings, and everyday memories that bring him to mind.
Jason’s passing leaves a space that cannot be filled. Yet he will be remembered in a peaceful day outdoors, a fishing line on the water, the loyal companionship of a dog, and a well-timed sarcastic remark that still makes everyone laugh.
He lived life on his own terms. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
May he rest peacefully, with a fishing pole in hand, the great outdoors around him, and a loyal dog by his side.
The family will not observe public services. Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services by Wappner is honored to serve the Vanwormer family.
