
Jeanne Grindle Charters, 88, of Mansfield, died Thursday, June 23, 2011 at MedCentral Mansfield. Born November 14, 1922 in Akron, Ohio, she was the daughter of Harold and Bernice Cottrell Grindle. She was raised in Ashland but has been a resident of Mansfield the majority of her life. A private and independent lady, she loved to watch television, especially the news and weather. She enjoyed the company of her cat, Sophie, her jewelry, having her hair done and pedicures. She and her husband, Jack, also enjoyed years of ballroom dancing.
She is survived by a daughter, Nancy Jerry Kulka; three grandchildren, Eric Dianna Kulka, Erin Reggie Blubaugh and Kari Brian Nikolaus; seven great grandchildren, Evan, Elyse, A.J., Ben, Claire, Melodie and Ashley; a brother, John Maurita Grindle; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Charters; a daughter, Stephanie Charters; two brothers, James and Robert Grindle; and a sister, Margery Grindle.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield conducted by Pastor Tony Pingitore. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service, from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m., at the funeral home on Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to MedCentral Hospice.
