Jeannette was known for her strong independence, wisdom, caring spirit, and unforgettable sense of humor. She had a sarcastic wit that could brighten any room and a realistic outlook on life that friends and family admired. Once Jeanette set her mind to something, she pursued it wholeheartedly.
Jeannette graduated from Mansfield Senior High School and Central State University. She later worked as a corrections officer at The Richland County Juvenile Detention Center and also served as a drug and alcohol counselor, helping others through difficult times with compassion and understanding.
Jeannette enjoyed life’s simple pleasures and treasured time spent with family and friends. She loved coffee, reading her bible, fishing, camping, traveling, karate, basketball, family gatherings, and singing. She was an avid fan of Mickey Mouse and Oscar the Grouch, enjoyed cooking—though she often joked about not baking—and appreciated good food and laughter. She was also trained in martial arts and carried the same strength and discipline throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Patty Ann Holmes.
