Jeannette Violet Stitt, age 100 of Mansfield, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Trustwell Living in Mansfield, Ohio. Born October 9, 1924, in Mansfield, she was the daughter of the late Virgil and Esther May (Baker) Carver.
She was a graduate of the Mansfield Senior Class of 1943. She managed the Quick Check and worked with the Sutters and Sandy Hill as well. She lived her entire life in Mansfield and spent over 40 years as a snowbird in St. Petersburg, Florida. She was a long-time member of Park Avenue Baptist Church and St Timothy’s Lutheran Church. Her hobbies were crafting, crochet, painting, cooking, baking, canning, she was a card shark and loved Bingo.
Jeannette married her husband Edwin S. Stitt on March 23, 1947. Jeannette is survived by her daughter, Beverly (Thomas) Fasig; five grandchildren, Sara (Brice)Smith, Mandy (Jesse) Drugan, Brian Stitt, Christine (Jason) Earlenbaugh, and Eric (Ashley) Stitt; five great-grandchildren Gabrielle Smith (Logan), Abigail Smith, Ariah Brammer (Matthew), Aleah Clow (Bryce), and Wyatt Earlenbaugh; nephew Gary (Debbie) Bridges whom she helped raise; a sister, Wanda Bridges; and a brother, Robert Carver.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; son, Kenneth (Martha) Stitt; brothers and sisters Lawrence Carver, Beatrice Wertz, Eleanor McCullough, Margery Moga, Alvin Carver, David Carver and Richard Carver.
The family will receive friends from 9:00-10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Wappner Funeral Directors-Mansfield, 98 S. Diamond Street. The memorial service will follow in the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Mansfield Memorial Park at a later date.
