Jeffrey Kenneth Staley went home to be with his Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, on March 2, 2012. He was the son of Sharon (Green) Staley and the late Kenneth C. Staley. Jeffrey died in MedCentral Mansfield Hospital of respiratory failure, with his loving mother at his side. He was born June 8, 1969 in Mansfield, Ohio.
Jeffrey grew up with a love for sports and baseball was his favorite to play. Not only did he play in the summer leagues at Ontario, he also was on the Ontario School team. Jeffrey enjoyed the Fourth of July celebration in Ontario, where he received a 1st place trophy for the frog jumping contest. He enjoyed swimming, boating and fishing with his family at Grandpa and Grandma Green’s place on Lake Erie.
Jeffrey had an ear for music and could play the piano well-a pastime his dad, along with his mom and sister, enjoyed listening to often. Jeffrey played trumpet and baritone in the school band. He could pick up a guitar and make it sound exactly the way he wanted. He had a pleasant singing voice and it was enjoyed during his karaoke songs. One of the people’s favorites for him to sing was Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire”.
Jeffrey is survived by his son, Kenneth Jeffrey Staley, whom he loved with a passion and with whom he had the joy of sharing the same birthday. Also surviving are his mother, Sharon Staley; sister, Jennifer Staley Schmitt and her husband, Richard of Palatine, IL; and several uncles, aunts and cousins. Jeffrey is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth C. Staley in 1997; grandparents, Milton and Laura Staley and Harold and Georgianna Green; and his good and faithful friend, Dave Zucker in 2010.
Jeffrey is now at peace with his Lord along with those who preceded him.
Visitation, memorial services and a celebration of Jeffrey’s life will be held Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Ontario Christian Fellowship, 636 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions are made in Jeffrey’s memory to the church or Richland Pregnancy Center, 600 S. Trimble Rd. #C, Mansfield, OH 44906. The Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family of Mr. Staley.
