
Jesse J. Shrewsbury James, 77, of Lexington, died Thursday, June 3, 2010 at Lexington Court Care. Born March 16, 1933 in Pax, West Virginia, he was the son of Ashley and Ivel Coulter Shrewsbury. In 1970 he moved from Huntington, West Virginia to Mansfield. He had worked for Ramelton Farms, The Richland County Home, Progress Industries, and The Center. Jesse was a member of Resurrection Parish. A good host, he was always smiling. Jesse was also a very friendly and happy man.
He is survived by one brother, Walter E. Shrewsbury of Mansfield; sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Curt Brown of St. Petersburg, Florida; sister-in-law, Gloria Shrewsbury of Libby, Montana; three nieces, Alisa and Aaron Reinhart of Lexington, Susan Hardrick of Crestline, and Kim Reese of Mansfield; three nephews, Fred and Valerie Shrewsbury of Fredericktown, Mark and Roberta Shrewsbury of Lexington, and Richard and Marie Lyon of Mansfield; several great nieces and nephews; and his wonderful nurses and residents of Lexington Court Care. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Rosebelle Stephenson and Dorothy Horn; three brothers, Alvin, Harold, and Henry Shrewsbury; and one niece, Judy Shrewsbury.
Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 6, 2010 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd., Mansfield, where a Vigil Service and Rosary Service will be held at 4:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Resurrection Parish conducted by Father Nelson Beaver. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made in care of The Center.
