Born November 28, 1960, in Galion, Ohio, Jill was the daughter of the late William Clegg and Sally (Preister) Clegg, who survives and resides in Galion.
Jill graduated from Galion Senior High School in 1979 and began her career with First National Bank in Galion. She remained at the same location for 21 years through several bank transitions, ending with National City Bank and its subsidiary, The Loan Zone, in Ontario, Ohio.
In 2000, Jill joined her husband, Tim Drouhard, in operating Drouhard National Jewelers School, founded in 1996. She later began creating jewelry under the name Sterling Smiles, selling her work wholesale to gift shops across the country. In 2004, Jill and Tim co-founded Drouhard Studio Jewelers.
Jill was a talented jeweler and artist whose creations reflected the warmth and joy she brought to others. More than her work, people cherished Jill herself — her genuine smile, generous spirit, and ability to form lasting friendships with everyone she met through the store and jewelry school.
She loved to travel, especially throughout Europe, with Italy holding a special place in her heart. Her favorite tour guide was a man called “Frabreezo” — probably a fake name. While she enjoyed adventurous vacations abroad, she equally loved simple beach trips and had looked forward to yearly visits to Indian Rocks Beach, Florida, where she enjoyed collecting beach glass and seashells. Jill also loved flea markets, rare treasures, and giving thoughtful gifts that always seemed perfect.
Her family was her greatest joy. She is survived by her daughter, Kari Ann Amos and husband Elliott of Columbus, Ohio, and their children, Marley Quinn, Madelyn Cameron, and Miles William; and by her son, Troy Drouhard and wife Tiara (VanHouten) of Fredericktown, Ohio, and their children, Adrien Drouhard, Kash Drouhard, Keoni VanHouten, and Ryder Owens.
Jill created treasured family traditions and seasonal gatherings that will continue for generations. She often said her greatest sorrow was not being able to watch her grandchildren grow up.
A devoted animal lover, Jill rescued countless stray cats over the years. Her beloved companions included Mike and Maurice, Angie, Monkey, Cotton, and Mickey, whom she bottle-fed from just two hours old. Mickey remained faithfully by her side throughout her illness.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Clegg; her father-in-law, Alfred J. Drouhard; mother-in-law, Jacqueline (Sams) Drouhard; and brother-in-law, Daniel J. Drouhard.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who offered cards, flowers, meals, gifts, prayers, and support during Jill’s illness. Special appreciation is also extended to Dr. Abu-Sbei, the infusion staff, nurses, physicians, and caregivers at Ohio Health Mansfield Hospital, as well as Jill’s friend, Janelle, from surgery.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 21, 2026, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm, at the Mansfield Art Center, 700 Marion Avenue, Mansfield, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Richland County.
Jill and Tim would have celebrated 44 years of marriage on June 5th.
Wappner Funeral Directors-Mansfield is honored to serve the family of Jill Renee Drouhard.
