
Jim C. Lotz, 63, of Mansfield, died Monday morning, June 16, 2008, at his home. Born November 28, 1944, in Mansfield, he is the son of James and LaDonna Lotz. He was a semi truck driver with Mansfield Industries and was a member of the One Million Mile Club with MACK. He was a member of the Little Washington Congregational Church. Jim was a member of the Owls Club, a lifetime member of AMVETS Post 26, Masonic Lodge #35, F. &A.M.. He enjoyed playing Santa for local organizations, and was a great family man attending all his children and grandchildren events. Jim enjoyed riding his Harley, fishing, hunting, mushroom hunting, splitting wood, and listening to the "oldies but goodies". He also enjoyed vacations to Florida, and participating in St. Jude's benefits and the Relay for Life. He also enjoyed and was thankful for the benefit held in his honor at the Corner Grill.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene Windsor Lotz; three children, Shelle Knyszek of Butler, Lori and Terry Shaw of Lucas, and Brent Lotz of Alliance; five grandchildren, Jessica and James Jones, Colton and Peyton Shaw, Brandon Lotz; one step grandson, Nick Knyszek; sisters and brothers-in-law, Marge and Carlos Cattani, Barb and Dean Blamer, Sue and Tom Windsor; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends at the Owls and the Corner Grill. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Homer and Gladys Bonecutter and Charles and Neva Lotz.
Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18, 2008, at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Rev. David Root. Burial will follow in Windsor Park Cemetery with military honors by Richland County Joint Veteran's Burial Detail. Memorial contributions may be made to Dream Foundation or MedCentral Hospice.
