Joe Gillam

Joe E. Gillam, 84, formerly of Bellville passed away Tuesday evening, July 2, 2013 at Lexington Court Care Center. He was born November 29, 1928 in Carter County, Kentucky to the late Garnett (Jordan) and Clarence Gillam. Joe retired from Tappan Company.

He is survived by a son, Mike (Jean) Gillam of Mansfield; daughter, Phyllis (Matt) Carey of Houston, TX; three grandchildren, Jean (Rob) Turner of Columbus, Tonya (David) Smith of Mansfield and Ryan (Ann) Carey of Doha, Qatar; five great-grandchildren, Michael, Cameron and Emma Turner and Bailey and Christopher Hanson; four siblings, Jim (Opal) Gillam of Mansfield, Louise McDaniel of Bellville, Woody (Nancy) Gillam of Shauck and Larry Gillam of Columbia, TN; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Frederick Gillam.

A funeral service conducted by Rev. George Reece will be held Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. Private burial will be in Mansfield Cemetery.
