
John D. Ashworth, 70 of Mansfield died unexpectedly Sunday November 9, 2003 at Med Central Hospital Mansfield. John was born September 2, 1933 in Danville, Virginia to the late John D. Sr. and Frances E. Grant Ashworth. John attended Crossroads Church in Mansfield, and was an avid fisherman.
Surviving is a wife, Dolores of Mansfield; two-step daughters, Jeanie Cushing of Mansfield, Ohio and Marla Turnbull of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; a step-son, Travis Browning of Galion, Ohio; four sisters and one brother-in-law, Jean and Bob Chandler Boyer of Orange Park, Florida, Betty Gonce of Orange Park, Florida, Barbara Vedral of Bronx, New York, and Gloria Glover of Ashland, Ohio; and four nephews and eight nieces. John was preceded in death by his parents, one niece, and two nephews.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors one hour prior to funeral services which will be held Tuesday at 1:00PM conducted by Rev. Doyle Peyton at the funeral home. The family will also greet friends for a one hour prior to the graveside services at the R.W. Baker Funeral Home in Suffolk, Virginia, Thursday November 13, 2003. A 1:00 PM graveside service will take place at the Holly Lawn Cemetery in Suffolk, Virginia immediately following the visitation. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the family.
