

John S. Conner, 75, of 153 Second Street died Tuesday, April 24, 2001 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital after an extended illness. Mr. Conner was born September 10, 1925, in Brownville, Tennessee. He was a detailer for automotive dealers in Mansfield. Mr. Conner loved his Cleveland Indians baseball and was very devoted to and concerned for his family.
He is survived by a daughter, Faye Morris of Detroit, Michigan; two grandchildren; a brother, Hildred Conner of Columbus; a sister, Betsy Tyus of Columbus; a sister-in-law, Louise Conner of Brownville, Tennessee; a brother-in-law, Luetenton Hudson of Louisville, Kentucky; a close friend, Bill Thomas; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Waverly Sr. and Mattie Conner; five brothers and two sisters-in law, Buford and Lula Mae Conner, Waverly Jr. and Rachel Conner, Charlie Conner, Melton Conner, and Earl Conner; and four sisters; Josie, Onie, Gertrude, and Opal.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors one hour prior to funeral services, which will be held Monday, April 30, at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home conducted by Elder Robert James. Burial will be held in Mansfield Cemetery. Online guest registry at www.wappner.com
