

John Thomas DeVenny, 68, of Mansfield, passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at Kobacker House in Columbus. Born March 31, 1949 in Barberton, Ohio, he was the son of John Sidney and Loretta Marie (Smith) DeVenny.
He had worked at Home Depot as an appliance specialist and enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, being outdoors and going to the casino. John was a great handyman and helped anyone in need. He was a great husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Miklovich) DeVenny; three sons, John V. DeVenny of Canal Winchester, Ohio, Brian T. DeVenny of Dublin, Ohio and Mike A. (Kristen) DeVenny of Grove City, Ohio; grandson, Tyler L. Call-DeVenny; his mother, Loretta (Victor) Bibby of Akron, Ohio; a brother-in-law, Ralph Miklovich of Cleveland, Ohio; two nephews, Eric (Carrie) Miklovich and Bradley (Jen) Miklovich; his cat, Moocher; his grand-dogs, Sadie, JoJo and Spike; and close friends of the family, Will Haynes, Zach Adkins and Harmoni Sauder; and several cousins and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his father.
The family would like to thank everyone at Kobacker House for the wonderful care given to John.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-5:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 3, 2017, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. The funeral service will immediately follow at 5:00 p.m.
