

Lance Cpl. John W. 'Bud' Jeffries II, 20, died Saturday, March 6, unexpectedly in Okinawa, Japan in the act of helping save the life of a fellow Marine. He was born February 2, 1984 to John W. and Sherry Richards Jeffries. John graduated from Madison Comprehensive High School in 2002. He loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting. John was serving in the U.S. Marine Corp in Okinawa, Japan.
He is survived by his father and stepmother, John W. and Sharon Jeffries of Mansfield; his mother, Sherry Richards Jeffries of Ashland; paternal grandparent, Geneva Jeffries of Mansfield; maternal grandparents, Dave and Shirley Humphreys of Mansfield; great grandmother, Cora Jeffries of Mansfield; three aunts and four uncles, Mohamed and Cheryl Khamis of Mansfield, Howard R. Jeffries II. of Mansfield, Kevin and Sharon Jeffries of Mansfield, and Tom and Sandra Collins of Mansfield; and six cousins, Antoinette Jeffries, Howard R. Jeffries III., Tiffany Jeffries, Michael Collins, Kimberly Collins, and Melissa Collins. He was preceded in death by his two grandfathers, Howard R. Jeffries and Earl Adams.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Tuesday, March 16, from 2-4p.m and 7-9p.m. The funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home on Wednesday at 1:00p.m by Rev. Daniel Cantlebarry. Burial will be in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of John W. Jeffries in care of the family for the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors.
