
John Muntan, 83, of Mansfield, died Monday, July 30, 2007 at Mansfield Memorial Homes. Born February 7, 1924, in Mansfield, he was the son of Theodore and Patsy Munteon. He was a member of American Legion Post #16 and the Mansfield Liederkranz. A competitive golfer and avid bowler, he was employed as the Greens Superintendent at Possum Run Golf Course. John was a veteran of World War II serving 11 years with the U.S. Navy and during the Korean War with the Reserves.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Kline Muntan; three daughters, Linda Green, Mary John Martin and Diane David Bautz, all of Mansfield; eight grandchildren, Ben Bautz, Dan Shannon Bautz, Jon Bautz, Craig Mandi Green, Deborah Kevin Fraley, Amanda David Fields, Andrew Kristen Beach and Adam Beach; eight great-grandchildren; four step-great grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Hockenberry of Mansfield and Patricia Jim Simmons of Texas; and three brothers, Theodore Pauline Muntan, Jr., Emile Muntan and William Muntan, all of Mansfield.
A private graveside service will be held in Mansfield Cemetery. The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors assisted the family with arrangements.
