Joseph Beck

Joseph LeRoy Beck, 84, of Mansfield, died Thursday, June 1, 2006, at Winchester Terrace Nursing Home. Born December 26, 1921, in Mansfield and was a lifelong area resident. He retired from Westinghouse Corp. after 40 years of service as a draftsman. Mr. Beck was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church. He was also a member of Venus Masonic Lodge #152, F. & A.M., the Baku Grotto and the American Legion. An avid golfer, he was a veteran of WWII serving with the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Estill Beck; son, Wayne Cheryl Beck of Colorado; grandson, Christopher Joseph 'C.J.' Beck of Colorado; sister, Esther Longsdorf of Mansfield; stepdaughter, Sandy Ferris of Columbus; two stepsons, Dennis Estill of North Carolina and Dale Janet Estill of Mansfield; step grandson, Donovan Denise Estill of Mansfield; and numerous other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Charlene Beck.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 5, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Military graveside services conducted by Richland County Joint Veteran's Burial Detail will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
