Joseph Bivens

Joseph Jeffrey "Joey" Bivens, 22, of Mansfield, passed away Friday, May 22, 2009, at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Born December 9, 1986, in Shelby, he was the son of Jeffrey Bivens and Laura Hoffman Bivens. Joe lived life to the fullest, never complaining, and was a genuinely good guy. He enjoyed playing video games. Joe loved spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephew.

He is survived by his mother, Laura Bivens Tim Crummey of Lexington; a brother, Chris Dana Roseberry of Mansfield; a sister, Angela Rush Brandon Gillespie of Mansfield; one nephew, Jeffrey Rush of Mansfield; two nieces, Olivia Rush and Brianne Roseberry, both of Mansfield; maternal grandparents, Bob and Marlene Hoffman of Bellville; paternal grandmother, Betty Bivens; paternal step grandmother, Jan Bivens; two aunts, Lisa Bill Fliger of Shelby and Shawnee Brian Smith of Mansfield; two uncles, Terry Bivens and Bob Donnita Hoffman, all of Mansfield; and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Jeffrey Bivens and grandfather, James Bivens.

Friends may call from 2-6 p.m., Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in the funeral home with Dr. John D. Freeman officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in care of the family.
