
Joseph H. Warndorf, 85, of Mansfield died early Thursday morning, December 26, 2002 at SCCI Hospital after an extended illness. Mr. Warndorf was born July 23, 1917 in Hamilton, Ohio to Joseph and Maria Tully Warndorf and was an area resident since 1956. He retired from General Motors where he worked as a supervisor. Joe was a past member of the Mansfield Liederkranz, Elks #56 B.P.O.E., A.A.R.P. and General Motors's Retiree Group. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who enjoyed golfing, music, and refinishing antiques.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Katherine Llewellyn Warndorf; two children and their spouses, Stephanie and Ken Lehman of Lake Orion, Michigan and Greg and Mary Lou Warndorf of Mansfield; eight grandchildren, Brian, Tara, Jennifer, Matt, Stacy, Nick, Matt, and Tony; six great-grandchildren, Carson, Claire, Garrett, Carly, Matthew Tyler, and Makayla; and a sister, Ann Lane of Norfolk, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Maria Warndorf, a son, Ty, and a brother, Jim.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Friday, December 27 from 5-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Richland County Humane Society.
