Josephine Bittman

Josephine M. Bittman, 87, of Mansfield, died Tuesday afternoon, February 22, 2005, at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Born October 27, 1917, in Mansfield, she was the daughter of Guiseppi and Tecola Pinta Sqrow. An area homemaker all her life, Josephine enjoyed crocheting. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband, Michael A. Bittman, Sr.; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael A. Jr. and Ann Bittman of Mansfield; daughter, Patricia Bittman; three grandchildren, Erin, Meagan and Michael D. Bittman, all of Mansfield; a brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Freda Sqrow of Thousand Oaks, California; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Tom Sqrow; and two sisters, Caroline Kuppinger and Mary Nezrick.

Mass of Resurrection will be held Friday, February 25 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church. Friends may call at the church from 9-10 a.m. Burial will be in Mansfield Catholic Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or MedCentral Hospice. The Diamond Street home of Wappner Funeral Directors assisted the family with arrangements.
