
Josephine P. Dilgard, 78, of Ashland, died Monday, March 20, 2006, at the home of her son following a courageous battle with cancer. Born September 17, 1927, in Dayton, she was the daughter of Antonio and Elizabeth Kirk Fiorentino. Mrs. Dilgard was a resident of Ashland the last 39 years and was a member of St. Edward's Catholic Church. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, quilting, baking and her grandchildren.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Tami and Jeff Markel of Ashland and Joni and Bob Obrecht of Loudonville; three sons and a daughters-in-law, Lad Dilgard of Black Lick, OH, Doug and Chris Benton, Sr. of Ashland and Charles Benton of Ontario; 10 grandchildren, Doug Benton, Jr., Steven Rush, Jr., Ali Mark Ramsey, Laura Chris Barger, Kevin Obrecht, Tayler Markel, Nicole Bowman, Adrienne Benton, Jeff Markel, Jr. and Alex Dilgard; one great granddaughter, Delaney Rush; one sister, Mary Ann Drake of Wilmington, OH; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Linus Wayne Dilgard; and two brothers, Mike and John Fiorentino.
Friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 am Wednesday, March 22, 2006, at the Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am Wednesday at St. Edward's Catholic Church with Rev. James Cassidy officiating. Burial will be in Ashland County Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio or Ashland County Cancer Association.
