Joyce Hatcher Bowman, 57, of 210 Educational Pl. died unexpectedly at home Thursday, July 25, 2002. Born to Adolph and Norma Hawkins on December 15, 1944 in W. Virginia, and has resided in Mansfield most of her life. Joyce was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, great-grandmother. She was a member of the East Congregation of Jehovah's Witness. Mrs. Bowman worked at Therm O Disc for many of years.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Bowman; three sons and their spouses, Steve and Carol Hawkins; Robert Hatcher Jr.; and Frederick and Kristy Hatcher all of Mansfield; three daughters, Robin Hatcher of Columbus; Monica Huddleston and Treveny Bowman both of Mansfield; three sisters, Johnnie Ginn of Columbus; Marcella Thompson; and Roberta and her spouse, Brent Taylor all of Mansfield; one brother and his spouse, Aaron and Emma Hawkins of Mansfield; a host of grandchildren; great-grandchildren; uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Adolph and Norma Hawkins; her first husband Robert Hatcher; one daughter, Donna Hatcher; two sons, Maurice and Philemon Hatcher; two sisters, Emma Lou Merritt and Brenda Reed; and one brother, Claude Hawkins.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors on Tuesday July 30, 2002 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home conducted by Elder John Davis. Family and friends may call at the family home on 210 Educational Place behind Hedges School. Following services the family will be receiving friends at Liberty Park.
