Karen Rose Gibson, 72, of Mansfield, went home to be with the Lord on November 15, 2014. Born September 13, 1942 in Mansfield, she was the daughter of Thomas Leroy and Anna (Wellen) Baker. Karen graduated from Mansfield Senior High School and went on to attend Bible College. A straight forward, tenacious, and beautifully chaotic person, Karen believed everyone should be treated fairly and believed in second chances. Everything she did, she did with passion, and she was fiercely loyal to those she loved. Karen was a life long follower of Christ who enjoyed music, singing, and traveling. She was a member of First Assembly of God. She loved history and trivia and enjoyed her evening challenge of Jeopardy. An animal lover, she was a proud supporter of the ASPCA. Karen truly enjoyed her happiness in the last years of her life.
She is survived by her husband, John R. Gibson; children, Van Brian Barton of Panama City Beach, FL, Amber (Robert) Marchant of Yukon, OK, John David Barton of Yukon, OK, Lee Anna "DeeDee" (Dan) Logan of Mansfield, Patricia (Patrick) Maurer of Mansfield, Teresa (Michael) Noe of Mansfield, and Johnny (John Stiefel) Gibson Jr. of Shelby; eleven grandchildren, Briauna Barton, Bradlee Barton, Seanna (James) Burke, Iszac (Corah) Marchant, Marshall Barton, Zachary Barton, Liam Logan, Brittany Maurer, Felicia Maurer, Michael Noe, and Isaac Noe; great-grandchildren, Alleena Holland, Bryson Holland, Cade Burke, and Xavier McNeal; and siblings, Shirley Harte of TX, Faith Baker of TX, and Mildred Leverton Farmer of Mansfield.
