Karl was a dedicated worker throughout his life, spending many years at Shiloh Tool and Die and Ohio Valley Manufacturing. Known affectionately as a "big teddy bear," Karl brought joy, laughter, and warmth to everyone who knew him.
He loved the outdoors, especially working in his yard, cruising on his Harley with friends, and tinkering with his beloved Camaro. But his greatest passion was skiing and spending time at Snow Trails, where he found both adventure and peace.
He is survived by his brother, Manfred (Vickie) Kirst of Arkansas; nieces, Talisa (Brian) Swindle of Arkansas, Margaret (Robert) Dujmovic of Maryland, and Gretchen (Juan Galvan) Kirst of Chicago; along with eleven grand-nieces and nephews and countless cousins who loved him dearly.
Karl was preceded in death by his parents, Karl Kirst Sr. and Josephine (Fuchs) Kirst, and by his uncles, Erwin Kirst and Leo Fuchs.
In accordance with his wishes, a private cremation will take place.
A Celebration of Life will be held on what would have been his 69th birthday, November 9th, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Mansfield Liederkranz located at 1212 Silver Ln, Mansfield. All who knew and loved Karl are welcome to attend and share in remembering a truly special man.
