Katherine M. (Tharp) Damron -"Kitty", 68 of Perrysville, Ohio, passed softly and peacefully on the evening of Monday, April 6, 2015, with her family by her side after a valiant battle resulting from a stroke.
Kitty joins her father, Weldon V. Tharp "Bud", mother, Hester Tharp, mother, Sylvia (Reardon) Cooke, and son, Eric Scott Lucas, "Scotty".
Surviving are sons, Roy (Jannette) Damron of Mansfield, Jeremy Lucas (Amy Sesco) of Lucas, and Corbin Damron of Fargo, North Dakota; sisters, Kay (Tharp) Whitcomb of Perrysville, Patricia (Tharp) and (Tim) Goldsmith of Loudonville; brothers, Gregory (Christine) Tharp of Jeromesville and James Tharp of Iowa; aunt, Bettye (Tharp) and Tom Franks of Loudonville; and grandchildren, Jocelyn Lucas and Knox Sesco Lucas of Lucas, Chloie and Karleia Damron of Shelby.
As a teen, Kitty's first job was as a nurse's aid in Mansfield during the early 60's; maybe her most conversed career was earning the title of banquet captain for multiple prestigious convention centers in Orlando, FL in which she waited on many notable celebrities during 1980's. Although Kitty enjoyed preparing lavish meals, going out to eat, reading, crossword puzzles, the tribe, animals, gardening, playing cards, music, poetry, studying, a star filled sky, talking and bicycling; she loved nothing more than her children and grandchildren. So... depending on who you are... Goodbye for now to Katherine, Kitty, Mom, or Gramma Kitty.
A private family ceremony will be provided by Wappner Funeral Directors, followed by cremation in Mansfield. After this, plans per Kitty's request, will be initiated for the distribution of her ashes into the Caribbean Sea off of the coast of Grand Cayman.
