

Kathryn Christine "Chris" Corwin, 89, of Mansfield, passed away of natural causes early Wednesday morning, February 14, 2018, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. She was born February 6, 1929, in Farmington, West Virginia, to the late Thomas Raleigh and Rena Trefina (Baker) Ice.
Chris worked for over 20 years at Mansfield General Hospital as a keyboard operator. She cherished her family and was a wonderful mother. She was generous, selfless and was always there for anyone. Chris enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed reading in her free time. Traveling was a favorite activity that she took advantage every chance she could get. Chris lived a full, blessed life and was a faithful member of Diamond Hill Cathedral.
She is survived by five children, Debra Morley, Rick (Karri) Corwin, Larry (Lori) Corwin, Tim Corwin and Diana Wendling; seven grandchildren, Ann (Jack) Miller, Melody (Roy) Barler, Beth (Kevin) Fernandez, Sara (Roger) Perez, Jeff Wendling, Eric (Jenna) Wendling and Bryan Wendling; twelve great-grandchildren, Christopher Keech, Justin Stewart, Sierra (Charlie) Zinn, Haley Miller, Tina Miller, Jamie Barler, Isabelle Fernandez, Michael Fernandez, Maria Perez, Charlotte Perez, Tyson Wendling, and Virginia Wendling; two great-grandchildren on the way; one great-great grandchild, Jaeliyah Inez Fuller; and one great-great grandchild on the way.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Dwight Otis Corwin; three sisters; and one brother.
The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00 p.m. Monday, February 19, 2018, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Charles Carrier officiating. She will be laid to rest in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Diamond Hill Cathedral.
