
Kay Ellen Wittmer, 63, passed away Monday, August 30, 2010 at Triumph Hospital. Born May 21, 1947 in Mansfield, she was the daughter of Richard L. and Marion Davis Galliway. She attended First Christian Church. Kay was an accomplished seamstress who especially enjoyed making ball gowns. She was an area travel agent and enjoyed traveling, shopping with her family and friends and playing golf. Kay's love of cats and dogs and their care was demonstrated through her work with the animal rescue organization, S.T.O.P.
She is survived by her husband, David Wittmer of Mansfield; brother, Gary Galliway of Florida; sister, Katie Bodin of Colorado; three nieces, Lisa Bowersock of Hilliard, Christina Berry of Hebron, Jessica Galliway of Mansfield; aunt, Annette Frazier of Mansfield; friend, Nancy Frafogl; caregiver, Susie Doehla; and numerous cousins. Kay's parents preceded her in death.
Friends may visit from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, September 2, 2010 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. Funeral services conducted by Pastor Mark Dettmer will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Contributions in memory of Kay may be made to the Arthritis Foundation for research in curing Rheumatoid Arthritis, P.O. Box 96280, Washington, DC 20077. The family wishes to thank the nurses at Triumph Hospital and the staff at Wedgewood Estates.
