Ken "Kenny" A. O'Neil, 53, of Mansfield, died Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. Born January 27, 1963, in Mansfield, he was the son of Edward Lewis O'Neil and Geraldine Rae (Starks) Freeman.
Kenny was a professional cook having worked for various restaurants in the area including Mr. T's and Parkway Restaurant.
Kenny always marched to the beat of his own drum which made him the perfect friend to many. He was the fun uncle ~ always willing to go fishing, golfing, play baseball or cards. A gentle soul, all the animals and children would flock to him. He enjoyed landscaping and would plant flowers in the spring for his mom and would promptly mow them down in the fall once they stopped blooming.
He is survived by his mom, Jeri Freeman; siblings, Jodi (Mike) Thrush, Rick (Carol Sargent) O'Neil, Sheri O'Neil and Brian (Sheila) O'Neil; 17 nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews; and too many friends to count.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his step father, Richard Freeman; brother, Tom O'Neil; and a niece, Ginny Smith.
Friends may call from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 South Diamond Street, Mansfield. We will be promptly leaving following visitation for a graveside service at Mount Hope Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
