Ken was born, one of six children, on March 19, 1943 in Mansfield, Ohio to Harry and Evelyn (Ward) McCrea. Ken was a graduate of Lexington High School, and proudly served in the United States Army from 1968 to 1970. Ken knew the meaning of hard work as he began working with his father hanging garage doors in his youth. Ken worked in security at Mansfield Correctional Institution and was a police officer for New Washington. Family was everything to Ken and he cherished the time he was able to spend with them. He enjoyed fishing, watching Western movies, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Ken was survived by his wife, Linda McCrea; his children, Teri Stidham, Sheri (Tim) Walton and Keri Jarrell; his siblings, Margarite Enix and Beverly Withrow; seven grandchildren, Ronald and Wayne Stidham, Jasmine, Linda and Hanna Walton, and Ron and Autumn Jarrell; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Shirley Cowgill, Donna Graber, and Ralph McCrea; and his son-in-law, Robert Jarrell.
Guests will be received from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at Wappner Funeral Directors-Mansfield, 98 S. Diamond Street. An additional hour of calling will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2024 from 10:00-11:00 am. Funeral services will be begin at 11:00 am. Ken will be laid to rest in Mansfield Memorial Park with military honors rendered by Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Squad.
