
Kenneth Oyler, 76, of Mansfield, died Tuesday morning, September 5, 2006, at Lexington Court Care Center. Born March 24, 1930, in Mansfield, he was the son of Raymond and Mae Meyer Oyler. He was employed in the Engineering Department for 48 years with Gorman Rupp and was an active member of the 25-year club. Mr. Oyler was a member of First Christian Church formerly serving as elder and deacon. He was a member of the U.S. Naval Reserves for 11 years and was also a volunteer fireman in Ontario. Along with his wife of 56 years, Dorothy, he enjoyed traveling, camping and spending time with their family.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Broach Oyler; daughter, Joyce Brad Wells; son, Keith Ida Oyler of Fresno, OH; four grandchildren, Michael Jennifer Yoha of Phoenix, AZ, Lisa Oyler of Fresno, Ryan Wells of Boise, ID and Cory Wells; two brothers, Eugene Patty Oyler of Bellville and Ed Pat Oyler of Florida; sister-in-law, Maybel Oyler; special niece, Karen Broach; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Raymond Oyler and two sisters, Florence Eggerton and Sis Oyler.
Friends may call Thursday, September 7 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Gene E. Witzky. Military graveside services conducted by Richland County Joint Veteran's Burial Detail will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
