

Kevin Maurice Thomas, 58, of Crestline, Ohio, passed away early Monday morning, October 14, 2019, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. He was born on January 28, 1961, in Westchester County, New York, to the late Oscar Mack and Barbara Jean Thomas.
Kevin was one of a kind, he played by his own rules, and lived life to the fullest. He had a big heart and Kevin was always looking for ways to help others, and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was a devoted father and amazing papaw who cherished every moment spent with his family. He loved to attend all of his grandchildren's sporting events. Kevin enjoyed fishing and traveling and was well-known for his barbequing. He attended Yonkers High School. He married the love of his life, Heather, on December 12, 1984, spending many wonderful years together. They had a special bond and a great love for one another with wedding vows they held dear to their hearts, "to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, from this day forward until death do us part". Kevin was a business owner of Thomas Towing and Auto, Richland Travel and Johnny's II BBQ Shop.
Kevin leaves behind to cherish many fond memories his wife, Heather M. (Hamm) Thomas; two children, Kevin M. Thomas II and Keianna M. Thomas; three grandchildren, Ke'andre M. Harris, Kayden M. Thomas and Kehlani M. Thomas; one brother, Larry D. Hardy; four sisters, Anita Rivers, Ivory (Christopher) Martin, Kimberly Hardy and Arnita Terry; a host of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and many other loved relatives; a dear friend who was like a son to Kevin, Mitch Yockey; goddaughter, Shaymar Bryant; and members of the Mack family.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his niece, Brianna Martin and mother-in-law, Mary B. Hamm.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street. A memorial service will follow at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Frank Bolden officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
