
L. Douglas Hamrick, 68, passed away Tuesday evening, February 22, 2011 at Hospice House in Ashland. Born March 24, 1942 in Webster Springs, West Virginia, he is the son of the late Freeda Hofstetter and Denver Hamrick. Doug was an avid fisherman. He retired from Acosta where he was employed in the sales department.
He is survived by his loving wife, Michelle Pewonski Hamrick; daughters, Tamara Hamrick of Washington City, UT and Katherine Charlie Watson of Mansfield; sons, Brian Leah Hamrick of Enoch, UT and Mark Hamrick of Mansfield; ten grandchildren, Shawn, Christopher, Nicholas, Megan, Cody, Lindsey, Chad, Taylor, Mark and Bryce; a great-granddaughter, Lillian; three brothers, Eugene Hamrick of Mansfield; Garl Hamrick of WV and Lester Hamrick of WV; sister, Patty Walker of Mansfield; special father-in-law, "Pa" Frank Pewonski; numerous nieces and nephews including a special nephew, Jay Hamrick; and his favorite canine companion, his brown eyed girl, Sarah. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Gartsel Hamrick; and mother-in-law, "Miss Betty" Pewonski.
Friends and family may visit from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, February 27, 2011 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Peter's Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Prince of Peace Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Oakland Lutheran Church, 2045 Mansfield-Olivesburg Road, Mansfield, OH 44903 or Hospice of North Central Ohio, 1050 Dauch Drive, Ashland, OH 44805.
