

Larry Hill, Sr., 66, of Shiloh, went home to be with the Lord on August 25, 2014. Born September 17, 1947 in Pike County, KY, he was the son of Belmer and Mary (Adkins) Hill. Larry loved the Lord and was saved on March 28, 1976. Larry was a member of Bethel Freewill Baptist Church where he was a Deacon for 28 years and served the church well. He loved to read the Bible and keep God's commandments.
Larry worked for the City of Mansfield Sanitation Department for three years and went on to retire from AK Steel after 42 years, 9 months, and 1 day of service. A true family man, he enjoyed riding horses and hunting with his grandchildren. He was the most wonderful husband, father, and special pa-paw.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Rita (Jessee) Hill, whom he was married to on June 17, 1967 by Rev. Duane Sellers; children, Larry Hill, Jr., Jay Hill, both of Shiloh, Luke (Michele) Hill of Liberty Township, OH, Matthew (Wendy) Hill, Calvin (Stacie) Hill, both of Mansfield, and Ashley Hill of Arlington, TX; seventeen grandchildren, Jacob, Megan, Paige, Jay II, Colton, Caden, Luke Jr., Brittany, Brooke, Austin, Cristian, Brandie, Mason, Bryce, Brock, Bronson, and Isabella; great-grandchildren, Mackenna, JJ, and due in December, Peyton Michele; brother, Densil (Janice) Hill of Pike County, KY; sisters-in-law, Nettie (Jack) Bond and Shirley (Elmer) Bond; brother-in-law, Fred Rumery; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Belmer and Mary (Adkins) Hill; two sisters, Beulah Faye Hill and Autheda Lambert; and two brothers, Luke Hill and Lawrence Hill.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, August 28, 2014 from 1-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington Springmill Road, Ontario. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 29, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at Bethel Freewill Baptist Church, 3983 St. Rt.13 North, Mansfield, 44903, conducted by Brother Herman Copley and Brother Earl Tackett. Burial will follow in Rome Presbyterian Church Revolutionary War Cemetery.
