
Lawrence E. 'Larry' Franks, 78, of 71 Sherbrook Rd. died Sunday February 25, 2001 at MedCentral Mansfield following an extended illness. Mr. Franks, the son of the late Neal and Nellie Franks, was born May 31, 1922 in Nashville, Ohio and resided most of his life in Mansfield, Ohio. He was a partner at Nikolaus and Franks Accountants and a member of Linden Road Presbyterian Church. Mr. Franks was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous for over twenty-five years. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II where he was a paratrooper and jumped on 'D' Day.
Surviving are his wife, M. Jane Doolittle Franks of Mansfield; two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry W. and Kathleen Franks of Huntington, West Virginia; and Terry E. and Ann Franks of Mansfield; five grandchildren, Adam M. and his spouse Emily Franks; Kevin M. Franks all of Huntington, West Virginia; Matthew R., Jonathan T. and Krissy M. Franks all of Mansfield; and two great-grandchildren, Bradley and Colin Franks of Huntington, West Virginia.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors on Wednesday February 28, 2001 from 6-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday March 1, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home conducted by the Rev. Lewis VanderNaald. Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Linden Road Presbyterian Church or to Alcoholics Anonymous.
