
Lawrence 'Larry' Lawton Lippert, 69, of Ashland, died Wednesday morning, June 6, 2007, at his residence following a courageous battle with cancer. Born April 4, 1938, in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of Kenneth Walkden and Sara Elizabeth Lawton Lippert. He was a 1956 graduate of Cleveland Heights High School and a 1960 graduate of Mount Union College where he was a member of the SAE Fraternity serving as house manager and rush chairman. An area resident since 1965, Larry was President and CEO of Lippert Enterprises, Inc. He was a member of the Young Men's Business Club, a former member of the Ashland Jaycees where he held many offices and a 17-year member of the Independent Distributors. Larry attended Trinity Lutheran Church and was a member of Church of the Savior in Cleveland Heights. He was very supportive of Ashland Balloon Fest and the Fourth of July Fireworks and was an avid gardener, taking care of his many rose bushes.
Surviving are his wife, Vicky L. Krouskoupf Slobody Lippert; his children, Anne Jeffrey Bell of Ashland, Elizabeth Todd Wheeler of Columbus, James Lawrence Lippert of Ashland, Jennifer Brad Slobody Beckwith of Florida and Kevin Robert Slobody of Columbus; eight grandchildren, Natalie, Erica and Gregory Bell, Maxwell and Benjamin Wheeler, and Danielle, Logan and Andrea Lippert; a sister and brother-in-law, Edythe Mae and Bill Wolfe of Chicago, IL; and several nieces and nephews in the Chicago area. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Susan G. Gedeon Lippert.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday, June 11, 2007, at the Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2007, at Trinity Lutheran Church with Dr. Sanford C. Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.
