Lawrence Nelson

Lawrence 'Larry' D. Nelson, 49, of 678 Villa Drive died unexpectedly Friday evening, July 7, 2000 at Mt. Carmel Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Mr. Nelson was born August 5, 1950 in Detroit, Michigan living in the Mansfield area since 1966. He was employed with Time Warner Cable Company for 25 years. Mr. Nelson graduated from Lexington High School in 1968. He enjoyed golf, football, basketball and fishing. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the United States Army.

He is survived by his wife, Konnie M. Nelson; one stepson, Kristopher M. Batten of Ashland; two grandsons, Kirk M. Batten of Mansfield who referred to his grandpa as his 'best buddy' and Kyle M. Batten of Ashland; one granddaughter, Kellie M. Batten of Ashland; his parents, Ed & Shirley Seiler Nelson; two brothers, Robert A. Nelson of Portland, Oregon and Ronald E. Nelson of Mosier, Oregon; one sister, Sherry Lynn Nelson of Ashland; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Monday from 6-9 p.m. Private memorial services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or KIDS.
